A Little Monkey's Birthday

It is so hard to believe that a year ago today, you came into this world with the most beautiful and sweet face.  This past year has gone by so quickly, and you have changed so much.  Look how much you have changed in the past year.

Then.....

 ......and Now!!

You have such an outgoing personality now.  You are so silly, and make us smile and laugh every single day.  You are learning so much these days.  It just amazes me how much you take in and learn from day to day.  Along with the words you already know, you are now saying "uh-oh" when you drop things, or you fall down.  You also say "ouch", but really don't know why you say it yet!!  You also discovered that you can "click" your tongue, and you find this VERY amusing!!  We absolutely LOVE when you give us kisses and "eskimos" (which are eskimo kisses)!  You shake your head from side to side, and rub your nose to ours.  It is so cute.  You are also waving bye-bye, and can give high fives!!  We are teaching you to put your finger up so you can tell everybody how old you are, but you haven't quite got that down yet.

You are walking a lot more these days, and can now stand up without holding onto something.  We are really in trouble now!!  You also let us know when you want "down", and can turn around and wiggle yourself off of everything.

Here are your stats:
  • Weight:  19 pounds, 9 ounces (25th percentile)
  • Height:  28 1/4 inches (30th percentile)
  • Head Circumference:  17 3/4 inches (50th percentile)
  • Diapers:  Size 4
  • Clothes:  Size 12 months
  • Shoes:  Size 3, almost size 4.  Your little feet are growing so fast!
  • Teeth:  Still have 8 (4 front on top and 4 front on bottom)  You are working on 2 molars, one on each side of the bottom, and have been for a couple weeks.  We sure will be glad when they pop through because they have made you quite cranky at times!!  We can see the tiny little white dots right under the gums and your gums are so red and swollen, so surely it won't be much longer!!
  • Food:  Mixed Grain Cereal, fruits and veggies, yogurt, lunch meat, really just table food in general if it can be smashed or put in a blender.  Still haven't tried any eggs, peanuts, honey....yanno, the things a baby isn't supposed to have!!  However, you will be trying them soon enough!
  • Drink:  Finally done with formula, and on to bigger and better things!!  You are now drinking whole cow's milk, water, and we still dilute your juices with 2/3 of water.
  • Spitting Up:  You have slowed down A LOT, but every once in a while, something will come back up.  It has slowed down so much that we quit putting bibs on you for the most-part.  It's so nice to be able to dress you in your cute little outfits, and not have a bib cover them up.  I'm hoping that since you can have whole cow's milk now, and you are up and walking, it will completely stop very soon.  We will soon find out!!  It's not affecting your weight or your health, so we just deal with it!!  I'm very thankful that it doesn't seem to bother you when it happens, but it has to taste so gross, cause it sure smells nasty!!
  • Toys:  You absolutely love your little stuffed cow.  It's just your size and you can hold it with one hand and carry it everywhere you go.  We almost lost it the other day, and we searched and searched for it cause we knew it was your favorite toy!  It had fallen underneath the front seat in the car and got kicked way under it.....thank goodness I found it!!  You had the biggest smile on your face when I walked in the door with it!!  You also love any remotes and cell phones you can get your little fast fingers on!!

We had your 1st birthday party on November 6th (the day before your actual birthday), and you had a blast.  Here are some pictures of the decorations....
