Great Grandpa's 90th Birthday

Karsyn's great grandpa turned 90 on June 17th, and we gave him his first ever surprise party to help him celebrate.  Here is the background:

When Karsyn had her 1st birthday, my grandparents came up to help us celebrate.  During their visit, Grandpa told me that he had never been thrown a birthday party for JUST his birthday.  It had always been linked together with Father's Day since they are always so close together.....so, I had a mission!!  My mom and I put together his first ever birthday party, and we went all out and made it a SURPRISE party!!  He is the hardest person in the world to surprise, and we pulled it off......almost!!  A couple days before his party, he started piecing things together, and he figured out we were going to have a party, but he had no idea who all would be there!!  He tried to get it out of all of us, but we just wouldn't give up the information!

To help keep him occupied, we got him out of the house that morning to go look at a boat that my parents were looking to buy.  Once we got there, we all fell in love with the boat, and got to ride in it home.  That took about an hour and a half!!  The lake is huge, but we also were on it at the busiest time, so we had to take it kinda slow since the water was so rough.  Here are a few pictures we took of the boat and the ride home in it.

Everybody checking out the boat

Karsyn's first boat ride...she did so good!!  She slept most of the way!  I guess the sound of the motor and the movement of the boat was perfect sleeping conditions for her!!

A view of the lake

My hero!!  He sure did enjoy his ride!!

Karsyn loving every minute of it!

Another view of the lake

Once we got back to the house, we had to hurry up and get ready for the big party!  We got his table all set up and boy was he surprised!!!

Some of the guests

Karsyn waiting patiently for cake and ice cream!

Mommy and Karsyn cheesing for the camera

Lighting the candles

Look at all that smoke from those candles!

The perfect couple!!

More guests -  he sure does have a lot of people that love him!

Opening some presents - what a great day!!

That was probably one of the best days we have had with Grandpa!  He was truly surprised (whether he will admit it or not) and had a great time!  I have always said that I will be so lucky if I am in half the shape he is in when I am his age!!  I sure hope he has passed those good genes on down to me!!  LOL!

Now for some boating fun!!  The next day, we took the boat out and had some fun while the water was still calm!  Even Grandma and Grandpa joined in on the fun!

Had to make sure and put LOTS of sunscreen on the whitest baby in the world!!

Mommy got too much sun on the boat the day before, so I had to borrow some of Karsyn's super-strength sunscreen!!

Karsyn riding with Nanine and loving every second!

My wonderful grandparents enjoying the ride!

Mark and I having a blast on Big Mable!

I couldn't stop laughing!

Mark (my step-dad) and I giving it a shot!

Again with the uncontrollable laughter....right before Big Mable threw me off!  I sure am glad they didn't get a picture of that....I am too old to be thrown off like I was - IT HURT!

It was a great weekend, and I can't wait to do it again!!  Some family members weren't able to come, and they were sure missed. I hope we can all get together sometime soon and celebrate what a wonderful man we are all so lucky to have in our lives! I love you Grandpa!!

Swimming Pool Fun

Mommy and Daddy bought me a new swimming pool and I couldn't wait to get in and swim!!!  The water sure was cold, but I loved every minute of it!!

Trying to help blow up my butterflies

Is it time yet??

Trying to see where the water is coming from

Too cold to just jump right in!!

I will walk around, but you are crazy if you think I'm gonna sit down in it!!

Too cold for me, so I will just get my cover-up on, and chill on the steps!

Check back for more pictures cause as soon as that water warms up, I'll be swimming a lot more!!!
