As Karsyn says..."Mommy, Twinkle Star!!!" and "Karsyn's ABCs!!"

Here is a video of Karsyn singing part of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and her "ABCs"....and yes, she LOVES to sing in the bathtub!!!

On this one, she is counting to 10 all by herself!!

Not bad for a 23 month old!!!  Tyra is teaching her so much, and we couldn't be happier with the care she is giving our baby girl!!

"Home" is Where the Heart Is!!

The Gurley family has been going through a ton of changes in the last couple of months.  We were given a great opportunity to go to work for Seaboard Foods in Guymon.  After lots of prayers, we decided to go for it!!  It was a huge transition from the big city of Kansas City to a small town in the Oklahoma panhandle.  This is where I grew up, and I am so thankful that I have been given the opportunity to raise my little girl in this same small town.  We have been super busy with getting moved, starting work, and catching up with good friends!  I haven't really had time to update this blog, and I feel like I have missed tons of posts but now that we are settled, it will be easier to keep you all in the loop of the happenings of Miss Karsyn!

After we got moved here, we had to start work fast.  As some of you may know, finding a daycare in such short notice is almost impossible.  Well, we found one, and decided to give it a shot.  Let's just say that Karsyn did not adjust well at all.  After 4 long, heartbreaking days of crying and screaming at drop off, fighting bedtime (which if you know Karsyn, this does not happen...she loves to sleep), waking up in the middle of the night screaming, and the look in her eyes on that last day when I dropped her off, I couldn't take it anymore.  So, I did the only thing I knew to do.....call family!  I called my cousin, Tyra that night, and after discussing it over with her husband, she asked if she could watch her full time.  We could not feel more blessed!  Tyra is so good with Karsyn and Karsyn absolutely ADORES her!  Not once has she cried......as a matter of fact, every morning when we go to meet Tyra, Karsyn starts clapping and yelling "TYRA!!" as she sees the headlights coming towards us!  Tyra has taught Karsyn so much.  Karsyn now knows the words to "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star", the "ABC's", and can count to 10 without any help!  I will try to upload a video soon of her singing....it is too cute!

After we moved here, I found out that Fiesta Days was just right around the corner.  I haven't attended Fiesta Days since I graduated high school 15 years ago.  I was really looking forward to sharing that experience with Karsyn.  Mark had to work that day, so Karsyn and I got up early, and got ready to head out to the parade!  Rodney and Jena were kind enough to let us tag along with them, and we had a blast!!!
Excited to attend her 1st ever parade!

How much longer do we have to wait??

Kneeling down like Rodney waiting patiently

Picking up candy off the street

Waiting with Jena for some more candy

Wow, Mommy.....look at all this candy!!

Abby and Karsyn

I want to say a special "thank you" to Abby!  Before the parade started, Abby ran all the way home to get us all some water, and even thought to get Karsyn a sippy cup full of ice water!  She showed Karsyn how to pick up the candy and put in her bag, and even gave Karsyn some of her candy!!  She is so sweet, and Karsyn loved hanging out with her all day and that evening!!

It just seems that everything is coming into place for us at this point in our lives.  We are so happy and so thankful for all we have been blessed with.  For all of you who have been so nice to us, and have welcomed us back "home" with open arms, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!  We look forward to raising our precious daughter here, and can't wait to see what the future has in store for us!
