Christmas 2010

We had a whirlwind of a Christmas, but it was probably the best Christmas ever in our books!!  It started out by going to Oklahoma early and getting to spend some time with great family and friends!!  We went to Nana's house in Pawhuska Monday night.  When we got there, we decided to let Karsyn open her gifts from us since there was going to be so much family there Christmas morning.

She got her first baby doll

It didn't take her long to figure out how to rip the paper

Wow.....do you see all these blocks?!?!

She loves blocks!!!

Yep, she's got it all figured out!!

She got some puzzles

Giving her Learning Puppy kisses!!

Tuesday, I went to see my dear friend, Terri, in Drumright!!  Nana wanted to spend some time with Karsyn, so I left her there and got to spend some much needed "catching up" time by myself with Terri!!  We had some good laughs!!  I love and miss you tons, Terri!!  Can't wait to see you again!!

On Wednesday, Karsyn and I drove to Muskogee to see some good friends.  We ate lunch at my favorite place, Hamlins, with some friends I worked with there, and then it was off to see Karsyn's favorite person there....Miss Debbie!!!  I didn't know if Karsyn would remember her or not since it has been 4 months since we left.  I was nervous as we walked in, cause I knew Debbie would be so excited to see her, and I was really hoping Karsyn wouldn't cry from Stranger Danger....she's in that stage now!!  Walking through those doors brought back so many emotions.  It was perfect timing...naptime for all the babies so Karsyn had Miss Debbie's full attention!!  When we saw Debbie, Karsyn didn't quite know what to think, but I swear it took less than a minute for her to remember!!!  Then, it was all hugs and kisses from there!!  The sweetest thing happened during our visit.  Miss Debbie got Karsyn a bunny that she made at Build-a-Bear for Christmas.  She told me that she made sure to put a heart in it, and wants Karsyn to know that Miss Debbie's heart is always near her and she loves her very much.....it took everything I had to hold back the tears!!  They love each other so much, and I so wish she would just move up here with us already!!!  LOL!!  I got the opportunity to take a couple of pictures while we were there cause when we moved, I was so upset the pictures I took didn't turn out very good....so, here is Karsyn with the famous Miss Debbie!!!

Look how much love there is between them!

It doesn't matter how ornery Karsyn is.....just joy in Debbie's heart!!

We just love this lady!!!!

Friday morning, I had this small window to run to Stillwater to see Joseph and my dear friend, Nikkie!!  They had a baby girl back in August, and I had never got the chance to meet Little Lily....Oh my, how beautiful she is!!  She has the most pretty dark black hair with these bright blue eyes!!  It was so good getting to spend some time with them and getting to hold Lily!  I was right at home....she spit up on me!!  I always felt so bad when Karsyn spit up on people (BTW....she is done spitting up!!!  She hasn't spit-up in about 3 or 4 weeks now!!  Praise the Lord!!!).  Everybody always told me it was no big deal, and I didn't believe them...now I do!!  After Lily spit up on me....No big deal!!!  They were so nice to get Karsyn a Monkey PillowPet for her 1st birthday!!  Thank you so much! The time flew by, but we had more family coming into town, so I had to rush off!!  It was great seeing you Nikkie, and you have one beautiful little girl on your hands!!!

The rest of the week in Oklahoma was seeing family come in from out of town that we hadn't seen in a very long time.  Mark's oldest brother, Danny, and his family came in from Texas.  They had never met Karsyn, so this was a special visit!!  The first time Danny walked in the room, Karsyn started screaming and crying....LOL...Stranger Danger!!!  She cried for about an hour!!  Poor Danny felt horrible!  It took her about a half a day to get used to him, but once she did....she had the best time playing with him!!  We spent Christmas Day with the Gurley family, and had great food, fun, and fellowship!!

Karsyn in her Snowman PJ's

She got a rocking horse and an OSU t-shirt from Santa

Loves her PillowPet from Uncle Danny and Aunt Roxie

So proud of her boots from Uncle Geoff and Aunt Jo

One of her outfits from Nana and Aunt Toni...
she was so proud to pull them out of the box!!

Listening very intently to the prayer from her Precious Moments Angel from Nana

Playing with her art easel from Uncle Geoff and Aunt Jo!

Karsyn slept through Christmas dinner, but loved it when she woke up!!!  Now that she is completely off baby food, she is loving the new tastes that table food has to offer!!

We had to come back home Sunday, but loved every minute of being in Oklahoma!!  For all of those that we weren't able to see this time, we are sorry and hopefully, we get to see you next time!!!

Karsyn woke up with a fever Sunday morning at 5:00am.  She had been pulling at her ears the couple of days before and was making funny faces when she swallowed food.  So, we gave her some Tylenol, and to Kansas City we went.  When we got back Sunday evening, my parents and brother were waiting for us so they could let Karsyn open the presents from them!!  Of course, Karsyn wasn't going to let a fever stand in the way of her getting to rip open presents again!!

She was so funny...she would rip some paper off....

Then take it to somebody and come back for more!!

Uncle Jayson got her a little bear....

And a pink monkey!

Whatcha got in there???

Look...it's a coat from Great Grandma and Grandpa!!

Tryin' on her coat that she got for next year!!  She wore it for 20 minutes or more!!  She loved the feeling of it!!

Grandma and Grandpa got her some new tennis shoes!

And tons of sleepers!!

Excuse me....I'm busy here.....quit taking my picture!

Wow...they keep coming out!!  How many are in there??

Have to reach WAY back in there!!

They also gave her a Vermont Teddy Bear...

....that says "Karsyn" on the butt!!  (They get her a new one every year!)

Reading the card from Grandma and Grandpa

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

That was it for Christmas....as you can tell, she made out like a bandit!!  Sunday night, she was still feeling rough and didn't get much sleep.  When she woke up Monday morning, her fever had broke, so I didn't call the doctor.  Well, about noon, it spiked again, so off to the doctor we went.  Poor thing has double ear infections and a throat infection (which just means the beginning of strep-throat), and was put on her first ever round of antibiotics.  I feel very fortunate that she hasn't had an ear infection before now and she has been very healthy, other than a bronchitis situation back in May that she had to get breathing treatments for.  Today, she was feeling much better and back to the happy Karsyn that we all know!!  She still has a poor appetite, and ran a low-grade fever this evening, but is on the mend!!  Hopefully, by tomorrow, she will be feeling tons better!!

Thank you to everyone who made her second Christmas (but the first one she enjoyed) very memorable!!  We love each and every one of you!!  This is the last post for the year 2010, so may the new year bring much happiness and love to each of you!!!

Until next year,
The Gurleys
